Reasons For The Bursting Of Ultra-thin Grinding Wheels During Use

May 20, 2023

Sometimes when using ultra-thin grinding wheels, cracks will appear, why? Relevant persons said that there are only a few reasons for this phenomenon.
1. When the tissue of the cut piece is not uniform, accompanied by factors such as torsion, thermal stress, and tremor during the cutting process, the stress will accumulate in the weak tissue, resulting in rupture.
2. When the resin of the cutting blade lacks toughness, since the grinding wheel is always in a state of negative pressure during the cutting process, lateral stress will inevitably occur. When the cutting blade cannot resist the lateral stress, the grinding wheel will break.
3. The flatness of the cutting piece is poor, the structure of the cutting piece is uneven, the hardness of the cutting piece is high, and the resin of the cutting piece lacks toughness. When the flatness of the cutting piece is poor, the cutting surface is curved. With the increase of the cutting depth, the cutting piece is affected The lateral stress increases, which will cause cracks in the grinding wheel parts during repeated reciprocation, resulting in "software", which will break after continuous use.
4. When the hardness of the cutting blade is high, the radial torsion force on the cutting blade will increase, and since the thickness of the cutting blade is usually less than 4 mm, the cutting blade will break.
Therefore, knowing the reason why the ultra-thin grinding wheel breaks during cutting, we must pay attention to avoiding these problems in future use.
