When the hardness of the grinding wheel is high, the dressing is fine and the grinding load is light, the passivation type is easy to appear. At this time, although the quality of the processing table is better, the metal removal rate is significantly reduced.
When the hardness of the grinding wheel is low, the dressing is rough, and the grinding load is heavy, it is easy to fall off. At this time, the sand contour distortion seriously affects the grinding surface quality and machining accuracy.
When grinding carbon steel, the chips soften at high grinding temperature and impinge on the wheel gap, forming embedded plugging; When grinding titanium alloy, because of the strong affinity between chips and abrasive particles, the chips fuse and adhere to the abrasive particles, forming adhesive plugging. After the grinding wheel is blocked, the cutting ability is lost, the grinding force and temperature increase, and the surface quality decreases obviously.
Grinding wheel wear has three basic forms: wear wear, crushing wear and shedding wear.
(1) Wear wear, wear wear is the formation of small wear edge surface on the grinding wheel. In the grinding process, due to the mechanical friction of the hard point of the workpiece, high temperature oxidation and diffusion, the abrasive cutting edge will be worn and passivated.
(2) Crushing wear: In the grinding process, the wear particle is subjected to repeated acute heating and cooling, forming a great thermal stress on the surface of the wear particle, and finally the wear particle appears local crushing along a certain surface.
(3) Shedding wear; During grinding, the strength of the bond decreases with the increase of grinding temperature. When the grinding force increases beyond the strength of the bond, the entire abrasive particle falls off from the grinding wheel, that is, shedding wear.
